CLIMATE & SERVICE
I work with several service organizations throughout the year. Here are some quick descriptions of each. Please get in touch if you're interested in organizing similar programs in your department!
Rutgers Philosophy Department Climate Committee
I've been a member of the Rutgers Philosophy Department Climate Committee since Fall 2017. This is a committee organized by PhD students in philosophy at Rutgers in the interest of cultivating an inclusive social climate in our department, and addressing existing climate issues. Rutgers Philosophy Undergraduate Mentorship Program
I've worked with the Rutgers Philosophy Undergraduate Mentorship Program for the past two years: This is a program that pairs graduate student mentors with undergraduate students considering graduate school in philosophy. Rutgers undergraduates interested in participating in the program are welcome to contact me, or Andrew Rubner (current program organizer) for more information.
Rutgers Summer Institute for Diversity in Philosophy
I've worked with the Rutgers Summer Institute for Diversity in Philosophy (SIDP) as a graduate student mentor for the past four years: This seven day program is designed to introduce undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds to the various areas of specialization within the discipline of philosophy, give students a better idea of what graduate studies in philosophy is about, and explore various views about what it means to be a professional philosopher.
